Hopkins Co., KY, on 17 March 1820 where Thomas Sisk sells Alexander Major "2 heifers, 46 head of hogs, 52 acres of land and all my household goods and kitchen furniture". Thomas SISK purchased this tract from Samuel MEREDITH on 10 Nov 1819. Kentucky Land Warrent No. 17797 of twenty five acres is surveyed 11 August 1828 on the waters of Deer Creek for Alexander MAJOR, assignee of William MAJOR. The tract is Entered 16 August 1828. He appeared in the census of 1830 (1 M <5, 1 M 20 to 30, 1 M 70 to 80
1 F <5, 1 F 5 to 10, 1 F 20 to 30.)
Hopkins Co., KY. He began military service on 14 January 1833 at Maryland milita; Private On the 14th day of January 1833 personally appeared in open court before the Justices of the Court for the County of Hopkins aforesaid now setting Alexander Major a resident in said county and state aged seventy six years who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath under law the following declaratiobn in order of the Act of Congress passed January 7, 1832.
That he entered the service of the United States under the following named officer and served as herein stated.
He states that he was born in Philadelphia County in the state of Pennsylvania on the 30th day of September 1756, that when he was about twelve or thirteen years of age he removed with his father James Major to the County of Baltimore (Maryland) in the said state where the Revolution found him that same time after the commencement of the Revolution, he substituted for his father James Major aforesaid in the county of Baltimore aforesaid for three months under Captain William Hutson and Lieutenant Joshua Hutson of the Maryland Militia that he rendezvoused at Roister town in said county of Baltimore and they marched to the city of Baltimore where he joined Colonel Buchanon or Bohanan of the Maryland militia under whose command he arrived in the city of Baltimore aforesaid with his term expired where he was discharged and returned, he received no written discharge.
He states that shortly after his return home aforesaid, he was drafted for three months under Captain and Lieutenant Hutson aforesaid, and Ensign Benjamin Todd that he rendezvoused in the neighborhood of his father aforesaid and marched thence to the city of Baltimore where they again joined Buchanon or Bohanan aforesaid and after serving under his command one month he was discharged and returned home, he recieved no written discharge.
He stated that the enemy was expected to attack the city while he wa there, but did not do so, he further states that he saw at Baltimore a Colonel John Howard but whether he was a Continental or Militia officer he does not recollect, but he will recollect that said Col. Howard marched with his commission northwardly and this applicant afterwards understood that hes soldiers suffered much from the inclimancy of the weather being insufficiently clad.
He states that after he returned from the aforesaid second tour he removed to Frederick County in the State of Maryland aforesaid and was thence again drafted for three months under Captain George Goblin and Lieutenant John Stinson or Stevenson militia and marched to Frederick Town in the County of Frederick and was there employed under Colonel James Wells and Major Joseph Wells of the Maryland Militia in Guarding certain United States Prisoners of War with his tour of three months expired where he was discharged, returnind home and he received no written discharge and thus he served his county seven months in the War of the Revolution. He further states that he is known to George Timmons & Absolm Ashby residing in his present neighborhood and that they can testify to his character for veracity and their belief of his services as a soldier of the Revolution.
He states that after the Revolution he removed to the State of Virginia and thence Woodford County, Kentucky and from there to Hopkins County in Kentucky where he presently resides, he states that he has no documentary evidence and that he knows of no person whose testimony he supeana who can testify to his serving.
He hereby relinquishes his every claim which ever to a pension or annuity except the present and descloses that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of any state.

We George Timmons and Absalom Abby residing in the county of Hopkins, KY hereby certify that Alexander Major who has subscribed and sworn to the abouve declaration is a resident in the county aforesaid that we are well acquainted with him that we believe him to be seventy six years of age and that he is respected and believed in the neighborhood wherein he resides to have been a soldier of the Revolution & that we concur in that opinion.

He was invalid by File #31239 in Volume 2 on page 256. He was on the Kentucky Roll of pensions at the rate of $23.33 per annum. His certificate was issued May 13, 1835 and it was sent to the Samuel Woodson at Madisonville in the state of Kentucky. The total amount that was due to him was $53.32. Recorded by Daniel Boyd. Book 3. Volume 7. Page 18.

Inscribed on the roll of Kentucky at the rate of $23.33 cents per annum to commence the 4th day of March, 1831. Certificate of pension issued the 13th day of May 1833. Alexander Majors children proven by oath of Mortimer Craig of this county that Alexander Major, late a pensioner of the U.S. departed this life on 27th day of August 1835. Certificate No. 13509 pension of $23.33 per annum. That William Major, James Major, Alexander Major,Jr., Robert Major, Polly Craig, wife of Samuel Craig, Martha Houghland wife of James Houghland, Catherine MIller wife of Thomas MIller and Sally Major are the only children of said decedent. (Robert Major and Alexander Major are citizens of Ohio).
