Mr. S.M. Adkins, of Depoy, Ky, died at his home Sunday, July 11th, Mr. Adkins was taken sick only a few hours before his death. He had suffered very frequently however, with attacks of the same nature but none proving serious. Mr. Adkins leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss. He was a man who possessed the good will of all who knew him and will be greatly missed in our town as well as by all his friends and neighbors. He was a kind and affectionate father, a loving and devoted husband.
Funeral services were held at the home on Monday morning at 10 o'clock, being conducted by Rev. Henry. The remains were interred at the family burying ground.

Marcellus Adkins a prominent citizen of Greenville, died of complications at 7:45 o'clock Satureay evening, March 19, at his home on Cherry Street, Greenville, following an illness of only a few days.
Mr. Adkins was born in May 1853, in Muhlenberg county, the son of S. N. and Lucenda Belle Adkins. In early manhood he married Harriet Ititia Wickliffe .............to whom were born four children, one son, Mr. Forest Adkins, and theree daughters, Mrs. W. P. Taggart of Cannon City, Colorado; Mrs. L. P. Moore, of this city and Mrs. Will Fowler of Paducah, all of whome survive him. He is also survived by his widow, two brothers, Mr. Neter Adkins and R. M. Adkins of Depoy, and two sisters, Mrs. Alvin Lovell of Central City, and Mrs. Lucien Lovell of Greenville, and three grand-children, Mrs. Joseph Martin, Miss Lucile Moore, and L. P. Moore, Jr.
The deceased was a member of the Greenville Baptist church, where the funeral services were held last Monday afternoon, having been conducted by his pastor, Rev. Summers, assisted by Rev. B. McCurrie, pastor of the Methodist church.
The following friends acted as pallbearers: Messers, T. C. Baird, T. O. Jones, D. O. Kemmel, John McCellah and Figeley.

A funeral service for Mrs. Harriet Adkins, 82 years old, who died at her home at 11o'clock last Saturday morning was held at the home at 2:30 o'clock last Saturday afternoon, conducted by Dr. A.M. Parrish, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery here. Surviving are one son, Forest Adkins, of Greeenville, three daughters, Mrs. L. P. Moore and Mrs. Ruby Taggart, of Greenville, and Mrs. W. H. Fieler, of Paducah.2,3 She was buried on 4 February 1934 in Evergreen Cemetery, Muhlenberg Co., KY.

On last Thursday morning at 3 o'clock, after an illness of ten days with fever, Mr. N.B. Adkins died. It had been known for two days that he was dangerously sick but it was hoped by his many friends that he was not ill beyond recovery. Mr. Adkins was 35 years of age and was born in the country near here, being a son of Mr. S.M Adkins. He owned a farm in the Bremen country, where he had been living until about a year ago, when he removed with his family to his place, where he shortly afterwards bought a half interest in the transfer lines to the depot and was engaged in that up to the time of his death. He leaves a wife, formerly Miss Alice Eades, a sister of C. Eades of this place, and one child, who will have the sympathy of the entire communtiy in their loss. The funeral services were conducted from the Baptist church by Dr. Coleman, the enterment taking place at Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Adkins was noted for his kindness of heart and good will towards every one and will be sadly missed.1

Spickard, at Oak Grove Baptist church, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The pallbearers were Arthur Camp, C.M. Liles, John McClellan, Forrest Adkins, Bud Stovall and T.M. Humphrey. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Adkins; one daughter, Mrs. Cleo Liles, and one grandson.

Mrs. Adkins was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted Friday June 18 at 4 p.m. with the Rev. James Vincent officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Sherman Adkins died on Wednesday, 14 July 1886 in Muhlenberg Co., KY, at age 21 Thrown From a Mule and Killed
Near Gordon Station, in this county, last Thursday Sherman Adkins was thrown from a mule which he was riding and sustained injuries from which he died a few hours later. His breast was crushed in and his neck dislocated.. When the accident occurred Mr. Adkins, his brother Robert, and their father were in route home from the farm of Netter Adkins, where they had been threshing wheat. The father and brother were riding some distance in front of Sherman, and seeing his mule come galloping up without a rider turned back to learn what had happened. Sherman was found lying insensible in the road and was taken home dying shortly after his arrival there. Deceased was a young man of twenty-two years and was the center of a large circle of friends. His funeral occurred on Thursday.2
