Juanita Bishop, 79, of Madisonville, died at 4.23 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Muhlenberg County on Nov. 15, 1921, to the late Adali Craig and Ellen Watkins Craig. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Madisonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Jack" Bishop in 2000, and two sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Staples of Madisonville, one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Finley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

     Madisonville, KY - Robert Blaine "Jack" Bishop, 80, of Madisonville died at 12:07a.m. Sunday, Feb 13, 2000, at Regional Medical Center.
     He was born in Hopkins County on July 5, 1919, to the late Joseph Bishop and Stella Skaggs Bishop.
     He was a retired field Technician for F.M. C. Corportation, He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon Emeritus.
     He was preceded in death by one son; two sisters; and one borther.
     He is survived by his wife, Juanita Craig Bishop of Madisonville; one daughter, Mrs. Elvis Carolyn Byrum Staples of Madisonville; two sisters, Mary Furgerson of Dawson Springs, Ky., and Lilliard Claridge of St. Louis, Mo; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
     Services will be 2 p.m. today at Barnet-Strother Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Finley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
     Visitation will be from 8 am.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

     Sam Louis Craig, son of LeRoy and Lou Nettie (Randolph) Craig, was born on Sept. 29, 1896, in Graham, Ky. He died on May 19, 1967, in St. Anthony Hospital in Hays, Kan., at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 20 days.
     Sam came to Kansas in 1917 and was inducted into the Army during World War I, shortly after he came to Kansas. He returned to Russell county after he was discharged from military service and made his home here. He was deeply interested in the farming and ranching of this area and made his home on a farm southeast of Fairport, Kan. On June 28, 1928, he was united in marriage with Henrietta Zweifel. This union was blessed with two sons, Robert and Roger, and two daughters, Bonieta and Ellen.
     Sam spent his lifetime engaged in farming and raising cattle. Even after moving to Russell on Sept. 1, 1952, he made his daily ventures to the farm to take care of the stock and to do other farming chores.
     Survivors include: His widow, Henrietta; four children, Robert LeRoy of Dodge City, Airman Second Class Roger of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Okla., Bonieta Lou Craig, Hays, and Mrs. Eugene (Ellen) Becker, Salina; three brothers, Urey, Adlai and George; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Bryan and Mrs. Veima Davis; eight grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. He was buried on 22 May 1967 in City Cemetery, Russell, KS.

     Henrietta Louise Zweifel was born on Thursday, 11 July 1907 Waldo, KS. She married Samuel Louis Craig, son of Leroy Craig Jr. and Lunettie Randolph, on 28 June 1928. Henrietta Louise Zweifel appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 in the household of Samuel Louis Craig. Henrietta Louise Zweifel died on Tuesday, 19 August 1986 Wichita, KS, at age 79.
