     William Armstrong was born on 1786 PA.¹ He married Mary Cavins, daughter of Edward Cavins and Margaret Craig, on 29 August 1807 at Fayette Co., KY.¹ About 1816, William Armstrong moved to Likins settlement, Prairie Creek Township, Vigo County, IN.² He left a will on 18 July 1844 at Book A, pg. 488-490, Knox Co., IN, which named children: Isabella Paddock, James Armstrong, Jane Kellar, Elizabeth Woodward, Andrew Armstrong, Edward Armstrong, Benjamin Armstrong, William Armstrong, and John Armstrong. The executor was Samuel R. Alexander and witnesses were: Cordelia Alexander, Abner T. Ellis, and Wm. Burtok. He died on Wednesday, 27 May 1846 Vincennes, Knox Co., IN.¹ He was buried in Upper Indiana Cemetery, Old Bruceville Road, Vincennes, Knox Co., IN.¹
