I, Sarah Bell of the county of Muhlenberg, being sick and weak in body but of a sound mind and disposing memory do hereby make my last will and testament in manners and form following that is to say 1st I desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid, 2ndly I give all my personal property to my two sons James M. Bell and Wyley A. Bell consisting of the following property four bedds and furniture, one clock and one cupboard and all kitchen furniture, one loom and all the yarn and cupboard furniture three cows and four yearlings 3rdly I disire that the above named property shall not be sold but taken possession of by my two sons James M. Bell and Wyley A. Bell and applied to their own use and benefit and I do hereby revoke all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my had and affixed my seal this 23rd day of February 1845.

  1. William Bell, Jr., son of Judge Bell, born 1807., died 1867, first married Lucy Smith who died 1851. She was a daughter of William Smith, and to that union was born one son, Thompson in 1834, and is now (1910), in his 76th year. He is the only living monument to represent the name of the Bell brothers in the county. They had three daughters, Sarah, Susan and Ellen. William Bell, Jr., married the second time to the widow of Aaron Smith. Her maden name was Elizabeth Poole, daughter of Joseph Poole, who was the father of Ferdinan, Reason, Henry, Pineney and David Poole, all dead. To William Bell, Jr., and Elizabeth Poole were born and reared on daughter, Elizabeth, who now survives.

This leaves unexplained the marker found in Hazel Creek Cemetery for Polly Willis, b. 2 Sep 17__ and d. 1822. David Willis's wife, Mary (Polly) Hendry Bailey Willis, died in 1830.
