Nancy Gossett was born on Sunday, 6 May 1810
Franklin Co., VA; Mrs. Nancy STODGHILL, whose maiden name was GOSSETT, was born in Franklin county, Va., May 6, 1810, and died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. F. W. LIVINGSTON, Hanson, Ky., June 19, 1897. Her father, Daniel GOSSETT, died in Virginia when she was only a few weeks old, and she and her mother, two sisters and one brother, Joseph GOSSETT, were brought by John NOFTSINGER, her grandfather, the following autumn, to his new home in Muhlenbergy county, Ky., where she and her sisters and brother were brought up by her grand-parents. Her sisters, after marriage, died more than fifty years ago, and her brother died just before the late civil war.
Mother had lived a long and useful christian life, left a legacy in good example to her children and many friends, who cherish a loving memory for her. The best of all, she died calmly and in great peace.
